About Us
In 1994, one of Encore’s founding members, Diane Noonan, attended a youth theatre production that her friend’s son was in. Captivated, she wondered if she could provide a new level of quality, fun, and excitement. Her father, proud of her daughter’s initiative, told her “to put his money where her mouth was.” On Jim Noonan’s initial $2,000 donation, Diane and her friends Susan and John Vaughn sent out letters informing others of their plan to start their own summer youth program. Within a few months, they had raised enough to start their dream - Encore Youth Theatre!
Encore’s purpose is to provide an educational theatre experience for students, from around the Butler County, Ohio area, although others are have been, and will continue to be, welcome! Over the last quarter-century, approximately 2,500 students have benefitted from the Encore experience, including professional performers from all around the country (Orlando, Chicago, and Broadway just to name a few). On show nights, expect a packed Parrish Auditorium on Miami Hamilton’s campus full of hundreds of theatre lovers cheering you on!
In 2009, we expanded into Encore Jr, a fall show that includes students in grades 3rd-6th. Nothing makes us prouder than our students who begin here and graduate in the summer of their senior year, an Encore lifer!
In 2023, we grew yet again into Encore Community Theatre! With a renewed focus on family performance and entertainment, our youth not only learn from their peers, but from seasoned professional local talent sharing the same stage!
Encore has been a life-changer for many of our performers, but only if you let it. We promise you the most challenging theatrical experience out there, but hard work pays off in productions that you’ll reminisce forever.
